Jeff Lynne

Long Wave

Album Cover

The long wait for the new solo-album of Jeff Lynne ends in October 2012. Long Wave contains 11 new recordings by Jeff Lynne where he re-visits old standards from the 50ies and 60ies.

With this he follows on a path that was also taken by Rod Stewart, Phil Collins and Paul McCartney. As on the cover-versions of September Song and Stormy Weather from his first solo album Armchair Theatre, Jeff gives these old songs his own unique style.

The title Long Wave come from the Long Wave Radio where Jeff first heard these songs in his youth and fell in love with them.

On his homepage he tells about how he fell in love with music at the age of five and that music has been his life ever since.

This is the tracklisting:

Listen To Me - Buddy Holly In 2011 Jeff Lynne already released a cover version of the old Buddy Holly song Words of Love - a song which was also covered by the Beatles in 1964 on their album "Beatles For Sale". Jeff's version of Words of Love can be found on "Listen To Me - Buddy Holly".

On the same date as Long Wave the new album Mr. Blue Sky - The Very Best of the Electric Light Orchestra is released. It's an album of old E.l.O. hits recently re-recorded by Jeff Lynne. As a bonus track we get a new song called Point Of No Retun.

Further releases are planned for 2013: Armchair Theatre (expanded edition), Zoom (expanded edition) und E.L.O. Live (Zoom Tour).
